The ACSYA Inc. Meets with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) of Iraq

On Sunday, 2 October 2022, the ACSYA Inc. met virtually with Rebin Hamad Amin. Amin is a delegate at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) of Iraq and most recently led a successful rehabilitation project at the ancient Assyrian site of Khinnis, in the district of Duhok, northern Iraq.

Titled Reviving Khinnis, Preserving Heritage, the UNDP of Iraq partnered with ACTED to lead a rehabilitation project at the ancient Assyrian archaeological site. This project, funded by the Government of Germany and provided through KFW Development Bank allowed for the “cash-for-work” employment of 135 individuals to carry out a number of activities: clearing of debris, trimming of trees, cleaning of tunnel ways, fitting of solar-powered lighting, installation of benches, and clearing of waste/ litter.

Today, this Assyrian site welcomes 150 tourists each week.
