Open roles

Journalist 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Content Creation: Assist in researching and writing articles, stories, and features about Assyrian cultural heritage. 

  • Interviews: Help interview historians, community leaders, and individuals who can provide insights into Assyrian culture. 

  • Reporting: Support in covering events, conferences, and activities related to Assyrian heritage preservation. 

  • Board Interaction: Support and respond to a designated Board of Directors on the ACSYA team regarding journalistic activities. 

  • Status: High-level non-executive member (not on the Board of Directors). 

Engagement Officer 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Community Outreach: Assist in building and maintaining relationships with community members, stakeholders, and partner organisations. 

  • Program Development: Support developing and implementing programs that engage the community in preserving and promoting Assyrian cultural heritage. 

  • Feedback Collection: Assist in gathering and analysing feedback from community members to improve programs and initiatives. 

  • Representation: Help represent the organisation at public events and meetings. 

  • Board Interaction: Support and respond to a designated Board of Directors on the ACSYA team regarding engagement activities. 

  • Status: High-level non-executive member (not on the Board of Directors). 

Events Officer 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Event Planning: Assist in organising and coordinating events such as cultural festivals, exhibitions, workshops, and lectures. 

  • Logistics Management: Help with logistics including venue booking, catering, transportation, and equipment rental. 

  • Budgeting: Support budget development and management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability. 

  • Evaluation: Assist in assessing the success of events through participant feedback and other metrics. 

  • Board Interaction: Support and respond to a designated Board of Directors on the ACSYA team regarding event activities. 

  • Status: High-level non-executive member (not on the Board of Directors). 

Researcher 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Data Collection: Assist in researching Assyrian history, culture, and heritage using primary and secondary sources. 

  • Analysis: Help analyze historical texts, artefacts, and other cultural materials. 

  • Documentation: Support documentation of findings in reports, papers, and publications. 

  • Collaboration: Assist in working with other researchers, historians, and institutions. 

  • Preservation: Help contribute to the preservation of artefacts, documents, and other cultural heritage items through research and documentation. 

  • Board Interaction: Support and respond to a designated Board of Directors on the ACSYA team regarding research activities. 

  • Status: High-level non-executive member (not on the Board of Directors). 

Social Media Officer 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Content Creation: Assist in developing and curating content for social media platforms that highlight Assyrian cultural heritage. 

  • Strategy Development: Support the creation and implementation of social media strategies to increase engagement and reach. 

  • Campaign Management: Help run social media campaigns to promote events, programs, and initiatives related to Assyrian heritage preservation. 

  • Board Interaction: Support and respond to a designated Board of Directors on the ACSYA team regarding social media activities. 

  • Status: High-level non-executive member (not on the Board of Directors).
